Playing with books
Mondays
10.00am - midday
The Book Barge, Barton Marina
Bring along unwanted books and re-fashion them into something beautiful during our literary craft mornings.
Book Art
“They seem like a nice bunch” (The TV Book Club, June 2010)
We've created an ABC of book groups to cover most tastes and ages.
Visit the boat on Mondays for crafty tips on re-purposing your library with our Book Art session.
Playing with books continues on Thursday (although with decidedly less artistic merit) when we welcome tots aboard for Book Babies - a half hour of sticky fingers and storytelling.
Meanwhile, our regular book club meets once a month to discuss a range of classic and contemporary fiction, to which new members are always welcome. If you can't make the towpath meet, please join the discussion on our facebook page instead or @TheBookBarge on Twitter.
Finally, we’re launching a more general books discussion in 2012. Join us on the barge for Paperback Picnic - lunch and literature on the last Monday of each month. This is a chance for an informal chat about reading and to find out what titles other people have enjoyed over a quick bite and cuppa. The first meeting will be on Monday 27th Feb at 1pm
